2010 CONTEST GREAT
SUCCESS!
The
Mr. Phoenix Leather 2010 Contest took place on Saturday, January
9, 2010
at Velocity Leather Fetish bar in Phoenix, Arizona. Out of
three contestants,
Kyle McDonal, a 45 year old bartender from Phoenix,
Arizona was named
Mr. Phoenix Leather 2010, Oscar Solis, a 23 year old
clerk from Avondale,
Arizona was named first runner up.
Judges for the
contest were Bob Weber, Mr. Phoenix Leather 2009, Jeffrey Payne,
International Mr. Leather 2009, Eli Edgin, Southwest Ms. Leather 2009,
Justin Smith,
Southwest Leather boy 2009, and Master Dennis, Patriarch
of the Dragon Clan.
boy joe, padlock leather boy 2003 served as
Tallymaster.
The contest was hosted by Daddy Kenneth, Mr. Cellblock Phoenix Leather
2008,
and Hobbit, International Ms. Leather 2008, and
co-produced by Stephen Bloom,
Mr. padlock Leather 2001 and Daddy
Kenneth.
TRAVEL FUND EVENT
Kyle's
first fundraising event was held Saturday, Feb. 27 at Velocity
Leather Fetish bar.
The Leather rummage/raffle
sale was a great success. Many folks donated their lovingly
used leather clothes and toys, which were snapped up by others to add
to their collection!
Kyle thanks all who donated, and those who bought, and who helped with
the event.
Special thanks to Velocity staff and management for hosting!
TRAVEL FUND EVENT
Kyle's
second fundraising event was held Friday, March 19th at the Bunkhouse
Saloon.
The Arizona Men of Leather presented a Prison Party to benefit the Mr.
Phoenix Leather
travel fund. The event was another great success and while
helping raise funds, the crowd
had a blast. At one point, the entire Imperial Court was arrested
and put in jail!
The next event will be the Black & Blue Ball, to be held at
Velocity Leather Fetish bar
on Saturday, April 24th.

Hey all,
Just wanted to drop a note of sincere thanks for all
that
participated last night at the Prison Party fund raiser for me. I
believe a good time was had by all and best of all alot of money was
raised due in most part to the efforts of AML and their supporters. A
special thanks to Kenneth Anthony and Bob Weber (evil judge) Justice,
Bill Mitchell and of course Jerry. Sir Dan and the cell were awsome and
thanks to all who installed it. Please pass this on to Pat O and Jeremy
and the staff at Bunk who were wonderful hosts.

on Saturday, April 24th.

TOP TWENTY AT IML 32!
Kyle
McDonel competed with 51 other men over the Labor Day Weekend at the
International Mr. Leather contest in Chicago. He was selected
after preleminary
judging to be one of the top twenty finalists. These twenty men
then went on to
vie for the top three positions. Kyle presented a powerful and
uplifting
speech and had a second chance to wow the crowd in his skinwear!
Overall, Kyle placed 18th out of the 52 men competing for the title.
CHRISTMAS IN JULY
Velocity
hosted Kyle's toy drive and fundraiser for Logan's Playground on July 24th.
Over $600 in cash was raised and a boatload of new toys were collected!
Bootblacks shined away and Santa's little helpers were showing some skin
and selling raffle tickets throught the night.
Joining the festivites were members of the Imperial Court of Arizona, the
Grand Canyon Sisters and more!
There also was a sexy santa contest with Mr. Cellblock Leather 2008
winning the title!
Kyle plans on making this an annual event to support
Logan's Playground.
LEATHER/GEAR RUMMAGE SALE
To benefit Joshua Tree and Logan's Playground, Kyle hosted his final
fundraising event of his title year.
The sale was held at the Bunkhouse Saloon December 5.
Once again, great deals were found.
Weekend
events included a Cigar Social, a Meet and
Greet, a Bar Bus Tour, Interviews,
a Leather Happy Hour, the Contest,
and a Victory Party. Sponsors for the weekend were
Apollos Lounge,
Bunkhouse Saloon, Cherry Bar, Off Chute Too, Plazma,
Tuff Stuff
Leather, and Velocity.
Kyle will be representing the Phoenix Leather Community as a contestant
in the
International Mr. Leather Contest, held Memorial
Day weekend in Chicago Illinios.
The
winner of IML 31 is Tyler McCormick, Mr. Rio Grande Leather,
from New
Mexico.
First runner up: Lance Holman, Mr San Francisco Leather
Second
runner up: Jack Andrew Duke, Mr Texas Leather
Mr.
International Bootblack winner is Tim Starkey, of the Boston Ramrod.
